This past week, six new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Of these, three are for projects in North Alabama, two are in the Birmingham metro and the largest project is for a hotel in Prattville.

Here’s what we know about these new building permits:

Microtel Inn + Suites in Prattville

Ground was broken last week for a new Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham in Prattville. The new hotel is located at 284 Interstate Commercial Park Loop, and construction costs come to $5.5 million.

Don Spurlin Construction is listed as the lead contractor.
