Across Alabama last week, 11 new building permits were issued for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These permits included projects in Athens, Decatur, Huntsville, Birmingham and the Montgomery metro.

In addition to a new bank branch in Prattville, permits were issued for the Swan Creek Shopping Center in Athens, the 3M plant in Decatur and more.

New First Community Bank branch in Prattville

First Community Bank of Central Alabama broke ground earlier this month on its new branch in Prattville, located at 211 Highway 82 Bypass West.

This new branch will replace the bank’s older West Prattville branch, but an opening date has not been announced for the new Prattville branch. First Community Bank operates nine locations in Central Alabama, with its headquarters and main branch located in Wetumpka.

A $1.4 million building permit was issued to Construction One for the project.
