15 new million-dollar-plus construction permits approved in Alabama, Nov 1st
We’ve got the inside scoop on 15 new million-dollar-plus construction permits awarded to contractors in Alabama last week, including a new industrial project at the Jefferson Metropolitan Park in McCalla. 1. Jeff Met Trade Center

- Contractor/Builder: Prestige Development \ Fernando Andrade Architects
Earlier this year, we learned that Dallas-based private real estate investment trust AMR REIT was working on a new property at the Jefferson Metropolitan Park, a 739-acre industrial park in McCalla. In May, AMR REIT awarded Fernando Andrade Architects, a firm based out of Fort Worth, Texas, with a $13.8M building contract that included up to three light industrial buildings on the property.
Now, the project—referred to as the ‘Jeff Met Trade Center’—includes three light industrial buildings on 33 acres of property in the Jefferson County Metropolitan Industrial Park. The first two buildings are expected to be complete by December 2021.
- Building A — A 303,730 square foot structure which can house up to four tenants.
- Building B — A 111,983 square foot structure with the ability to house four tenants and features rear loading docks.
- Building C — A 327,000 square foot structure with convenient rail service in the rear.
Once complete, the Jeff Met Trade Center will offer access to I-20/59 and I-459, allowing tenants to easily transport their products to major Southern cities such as Atlanta, Memphis, Nashville, Mobile, New Orleans and Dallas.
