35 building permits issued for new high-dollar projects in Alabama

Nearly three dozen new building permits were issued this past week in Alabama for projects exceeding $1 million. A large chunk of them are for a project in Huntsville (in fact, 26 of the permits are for this project) totaling more than $50 million.

Here’s what we know about these new construction projects:

New apartment complex in Huntsville

Ground was broken a couple of weeks ago for a multi-family complex in Huntsville — a project which received 26 of the 35 building permits issued this past week. W.R. Newman & Assiciates is listed as the lead contractor. Total, the project looks to cost more than $50 million.

An estimated completion date for the Hays Farm Multifamily project — as named on the building permit — has not been announced, but it joins multiple housing plans in and around the Hays Farm development, which includes residential, office and retail properties.
