3 ways to have a self-care day around Mobile
Reading time: 3 minutes
We all need a self-care day from time to time. A day dedicated to bettering ourselves + living our best lives. But that can look different for everyone, so we compiled and planned out 3 ways to have a self-care day around Mobile. Whether you’re an outdoorsman (or woman), someone in desperate need of some pampering, or just looking for a fun way to kill some time by yourself—we’ve got the whole day planned out for you. These plans are designed to be a fun day for 1, but you can grab a friend + have just as much fun!
1. The great outdoors: a picnic, solo hike + plant shopping
- Breakfast: a smoothie bowl from Soul Bowlz (we recommend the Karma bowl!)
- First stop: a nature walk through Gulf State Park
- Lunch: stop at Original Oyster House on the Causeway for some nosh
- Second stop: come back into Mobile for the Botanical Gardens + some plant shops
- Dinner: dining on the rooftop at the Greer’s St. Louis Market
Some other stops you could work into this trip: Switch out the hike at Gulf State Park for any of these hikes on our list, dine outside at any of these downtown Mobile restaurants + bring along Fido to these dog-friendly picks.
2. The Pampered: spa day pass, shopping + swanky dinner
- Breakfast: grab a coffee + bagel from Yellowhammer Coffee
- First stop: Day pass for the Spa at the Grand Hotel in Point Clear (Mon-Thurs only! For weekends, we’d swap this one out with a massage or facial from the spa)
- Lunch: dine on the outdoor patio at Sunset Point in Fly Creek Marina
- Second stop: stopping at the Tanger Outlets in Foley to stock up on all your summer fashion essentials
- Dinner: sushi at Chuck’s Fish in downtown Mobile, followed by cocktails in the lounge at POST
Some other ideas you could work into this plan: shopping in downtown Fairhope or downtown OWA + Babe Cave 251 or the Battle House as your spa of choice
3. The Downtowner: book shopping, coffee + outdoor dining
- Breakfast: chow down on a classic American-style breakfast on the porch of Bob’s Downtown Diner
- First stop: browsing for new books at The Haunted Book Shop
- Lunch: a seasonal charcuterie board from the Cheese Cottage
- Second stop: Coffee + reading that new book on the porch at Nova Espresso
- Dinner: sit on the patio swings for dinner at Squid Ink Eclectic Eats, followed by drinks at Mobile’s oldest bar Hayley’s
