Cooper Green Hospital in Birmingham
Ground was broken in January on the new Cooper Green hospital building, which will replace the now-demolished hospital (originally called Mercy Hospital).
According to UAB, Cooper Green Mercy Health will include several new amenities:
- An expanded rehabilitation suite featuring an outdoor section dedicated to developing outdoor skills such as navigating curbs and various ground surfaces
- A phlebotomy and injection clinic that will streamline laboratory visits and improve the process of vaccinations
- New magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) machine
- Clinic areas will be designed to support team-based, multidisciplinary care, making clinic visits more centralized for the comfort of the patients
- Facility will incorporate natural light throughout the building in stairwells and waiting areas
- Gift shop and food service options
Brasfield & Gorrie is the lead contractor on this project.
