Alabama Center for the Arts Residence Hall | Decatur

Calhoun Community College and Athens State University recently held a groundbreaking for a new residence hall at the Alabama Center for the Arts in downtown Decatur. The Alabama Center for the Arts—made possible by a partnership between Calhoun Community College, Athens State University and the City of Decatur—is a hub for creative learning and serves people of all ages, backgrounds and skill levels.

The new residence hall with be the Alabama Center for the Arts’ first dormitory for students, featuring 49 apartments.

  • The residence hall will include 43,474 square feet of space, spread across three stories.
  • There will be 11 studio, 19 one-bedroom and 19 two-bedroom residential units.
  • Residents will have access to refrigerators, stoves, ovens, microwaves, dishwashers, washers, dryers and high-speed internet.

In addition, residents will use keyless entry cards to enter the building and security cameras will monitor all exterior entrances and exits.
