As reported by The Bama Buzz earlier this year, Colorado-based aerospace company United Launch Alliance (ULA) and a major partner are teaming up to expand the company’s factory in Decatur. United Launch Alliance—a joint venture between Lockheed Martin Space and Boeing Defense, Space & Security—manufactures and launches dozens of models of rockets for customers such as the United States Department of Defense, NASA and Amazon. The company’s recent expansion of their Decatur factory will help fulfill the company’s deal with Amazon to built 38 rockets. Once complete, those rockets will deliver satellites for Amazon’s Project Kuiper.
